Events
Bookwise for event DJs, photography, and décor is live. Register your business, get a public booking site, and take client bookings online.
1. Open Get started
- Go to the Bookwise home page.
- Click Get started free (or Get started in the header).
- Choose Event DJ & organiser.
You can also go straight to register for Events.
2. Register your business
You will be asked for:
- Business name
- Public URL slug (this becomes your site address under a managed subdomain such as
your-slug.bookwise.nixbin.com) - Admin account email and password
- Country / timezone basics
Submit the form. You land in your admin dashboard for that business.
3. Set up your catalogue
- Open Offerings (Catalogue).
- Add categories if you need more than the defaults (for example DJ, Photography, Decoration).
- Add offering — name, duration, and category.
- Open each offering and set Hours & away so public slots match when you work.
- Optionally add clients from the Clients roster before peak season.
4. Take bookings
Guest book (no account)
- Share your public site link.
- Visitors open Book, pick an offering and slot, then enter name + email only.
- The booking lands as awaiting confirmation until you confirm it in admin.
Registered clients
Clients can Register on your site, then use Book a service and My bookings from their dashboard.
Admin
- Open Bookings — confirm, cancel, or mark status as needed.
- Use Book a service to enter a phone booking on behalf of a client.
- Use Master calendar to see load across offerings.
5. Payments, receipts, and invoices
- Open a booking and record an offline payment (cash / bank transfer).
- Open View receipt for a printable HTML receipt.
- When event invoicing is enabled for your account, use Generate invoice and Send invoice (email goes to the booking client).
Online card checkout rolls out when enabled for your tenant — until then, offline pay covers the day-to-day flow.
6. Google Calendar (optional)
- Open Admin → Bookings → Booking Settings and turn on Google Calendar sync.
- On the same page, Connect Google Calendar for your business calendar (one connection for the whole business).
- Confirmed bookings sync to Google; cancelled bookings are removed. Event titles stay minimal (offering name + client first name + last initial).
7. Site setup for events
From the Admin sidebar:
- Site → Site & Pages — business profile, custom pages, and SEO fields for your public site.
- Site → Branding — logo, colours, display name, contact details, and home-page copy.
- Site → Themes — pick a theme from the catalogue and click Apply (purchase is not available in this release).
- Site → Hosting — custom domain and DNS steps.
- Comms → Email / Comms → SMS — when Bookwise has messaging enabled for your account.
Gallery and blog CMS are driving-school features today; Events focuses on offerings and bookings.
Cancellation
Clients may cancel only when the start time is more than 24 hours away. Admins can cancel at any time. This window is fixed in Bookwise (not a tenant setting).
Slot hold
While someone finishes the book form, the chosen slot is held for about 10 minutes, then released if they do not confirm.
Tips
- You can use Bookwise free during beta. Platform subscription pricing is not published on
/pricingyet — ask your Bookwise contact when you leave beta. - Keep your admin email somewhere safe — it is how you sign in and recover access.
- Set hours on every live offering before you share the public link widely.
